Talon watched the wolf move from a calmed position to an angry one. He said nothing but remained quiet, his position neutral but soft, a hint of no aggression. The wolf walked over to him and stared into his eyes. This couldn't end well.. The result, however, was the older wolf telling him he had to leave. Talon opened his mouth to respond but knew no words would help this situation. <I...alright..> he replied quietly. He wanted to ask for a place to stay, some water, but knew the reason he was being escorted. He was dangerous. He followed the wolf silently yet took in the scenery with a sense of approval. It seemed abandoned, quiet, dark, all the places he had always been shoved into his entire life. But why shouldn't he have been? Everything was in danger around him. <Thank you,> he replied, <but it's alright, I understand.> he said, keeping his head low as he took in scents. <I want to thank you for not tying to kill me or turning me in on the spot.> he said, <It seems that's usually how I end up in the end.> He gave a small smile but it was a fake and one tinged with sadness. He liked this male for whatever reason. There was a sense of strength within him, a power unlike any he'd have known. Fatherly, gentle, yet capable of serious damage if threatened. He wanted to join a pack and have it be ruled by somebody like him.

Yoricks heart was screaming at him, calling him all mannerof indecent things. He simply could not believe he was turning such a calm wolf away. Truthfully he was huge, and could easily flatten Yorick if he really wanted to, but he hadn't. Even after the aggressive outburst just now, he was only quietly falling in behind him.
Grey knew Ulric would tear him to pieces if he allowed another wolf to stray into there territory, but he felt that he owed this newcomer and alternative place to roam instead. He figured he could simply name any place, it wasn't like he was responsible for the lands of there enemies. So easily he could inform the wolf of the land of the vicious Nyalcom, or the noble, yet very strict Havren lands, yet he knew neither were really suited to his unique disposition.
The Rulin wolves were a bit more accepting of new comers. Yorick had heard as much anyway, though he like the rest of his pack, was an enemy to there pack. It was unknown to him, if this wolf would fair better there then he had here, but anyplace he guessed was worth a try. It would be an ironic turn of events if one day he ended up facing this same wolf on the battlefield. He wondered if that should happen, if there would be malice in his eyes for this very moment in his life. Grey honestly wouldn't blame him.
Glancing back, he took note of the body position of his follower. His head was bent low, and he looked underterred, but Yorick guessed otherwise. He realized that he didn't even know his name, and hadn't addressed in the simple formality of sharing his own name. The wolf thanked him of all things, meanwhile Yorick was silently kicking himself knowing how horrible he was being. To further it, he was thanked again, for not turning him in or killing him, it made Yorick wasnt to faint in guilt. Turning his head to speak, he couldn't bare to look the wolf in the eyes." I would never have done such things. If it were up to me you could stay here, but it is not. I apologize further for not giving you my name, its Yorick Grey, and I would understand if you do not wish to reveal yours after all of this."
His head perked and he shook it. <It's Talon. Least that's what I was called since birth. Still pretty funny that that was the name of all things.> he spoke and realized he was prattling on. He swallowed twice before continuing. <Well I still thank you for that. I don't really feel much like fighting if I don't have to. I know other wolves wouldn't be so kind, especially if I were to just walk in a territory unannounced, lost or not.> he explained. He watched as his paw slipped into the male's own footprint, moist from the fog. His paw was much larger and shaped a bit differently, he noticed. A sign of where they lived, an environmental advantage. <I understand fully.> he replied, lifting his head to scent the air. It smelled like rain as all things did with fog, the damp soil and foliage hanging like musk. Thick, rich, bitter too. <Yorick...Nice to meet you.> he spoke. There was no emotion in those words. A silent approval. <Where's...where's your pack?> he questioned and instantly wished he hadn't.

Yorick was glad that he now knew the name of the wolf, would no longer have to refer to him as a wandering chalaton that was trespassing. Talon was an appropriate name, it went well with his rather large looking claws that were etching into the ground in the paws steps he created. It was nice to finaly be able to acknowledge Talon, made this whole thing seem less awkward in a way, though Yorick knew he should have felt more awkward kicking someone he knew by name out of the area, but surprisingly he was less anxious then before.
Nodding to Talon, he didn't dare look back to make eye contact. Instead he was focusing on the trail, because it narrowed considerably here, and there were fallen trees everywhere, not to mention the occasional creek that lay in the little dips of earth."Watch your step" Leaping gracefully with a well practiced and skilled jump, he leapt across a small creek. Waiting for Talon to leap across, he marveled at the calm sounds of the trickling waters as they raced among the rocks. It was a much welcomed serenity, a simple moment, but the kind that he reveled in. He would have loved to simply lounge about near it and take in the sunlight. It wasn't often that the little gifts of peace crept into his life, and he tried to treasure every momment. Upon hearing the question about his pack, he was less concerned with Talon being a danger to it, and more conerned with the fact that he may try and find it." I'm not sure you'd be safe, depends on the alpha, and he is tense in the best situations. I can't reveal it to you, because I don't know your purpose towards my pack. Not like your a threat for all of us, but still." Thats all he said on teh matter waiting to see, if Talon would further try and contiunue the subject.
He took a few more steps and watched the road ahead start to thin. He blinked at first but followed the male a bit more closely. He watched the wolf take a bounding leap over a large log and then pause. Almost waiting. Talon took a running leap and landed surprisingly daintily for his size though the ground still shook a bit upon the land. He waited for his partner to walk first before he followed suit. The subject on the pack was touchy. He listened to the almost warning in Yorick's voice and he said little else. Something seemed a bit odd and he decided not to press into it further. <I only brought it up because you keep looking into the woods, and smell faintly like others. I figured you belonged to a pack and found me on accident during a...I don't know, a-a hunting trip or something.> His ears cocked this way and that and yet he heard nothing. They weren't planning an ambush or anything. If that were the case, the birds would have stopped chirping. <So where exactly are we headed?> he questioned.

While waiting a cooling breeze swept over him, taking his fur with its current, pulling it, and causing it to look untidy. He would scowl at that later, because admitedly he was a bit of a neat freak. Closing his blue grey eyes, he just relaxed and enjoyed the sensation. He heard rather then saw Talon leap over the tree and creek. The initial power from his pounce was easily distinguishable from the other quieter sounds around them.
Surprisingly there was not another loud echoing tell tale thump to speak of his arrival, however Yorick almost jumped at the unexpected slight movement to the ground. Usually such things were accompanied with sound, but its that lack of it that had caught him clinging to his nerves to keep from jumping. The breeze now forgotten, his eyes were open once more. Not wishing to make it awkward and ask about why he wasn't so good at landings, he hurried to continue along, at somewhat of a jogging pace. Sensing a bit of tension or perhaps a bit more distance between himself and Talon, he was about to question it, when Talon beat him to it and talked first.
His question caught him off guard, well the first one anyway. Yes he was alone, but he had to admit the idea of him escorting Talon alone was a little hard to believe. The real question was, should he lie for his safety and tall him that he was indeed not alone? In reality he wished that it was true, and that he wasn't on a single runner patrol at the moment. It would have been more comforting to have another of the pack near him. Since Talon had yet to attack him, he gave him the benefit of the doubt."No my pack is not near. I am alone."Well there now he knows that its just me, and now I have to be warry of him taking advantage of me being by myself."I'm leading you to the edge of my pack's territory. It borders with another pack known as the Rulin wolf pack. Perhaps they can be more inviting then I was allowed to be."
