She awaited what her alpha would say, seeming as he'd joked when he first saw her. Keavy had a growing suspicion it was something really bad or something really good and she was leaning to the first. There was no other reason for her to be called by her alpha in such a way if it were good, even if it was for a few laughs.
However, one wolfess hadn't shown her face yet, but she stayed at attention hoping to not draw it to the alpha's attention. Keavy was sure the alphess' mate knew she wasn't there like a flame of fire. For herself, she'd never had a mate or really any were that caught her fancy. Stories and myths were all she could go by to know how it felt to have a special were in your heart. Keavy was by no means jealous of those that did have mates, she was just drawing from her knowledge of what the alpha could know. Shoot, he knew everthing about his pack members just about, but was kind enough to shut off the part of his mind that allowed him to reach them all when not needed.
Well since she was clearly here and the theoretical clock ticked by, the alpha seemed to make a decision to tell her what was going on. Her heart began to flutter insanely as his gaze hardened. It was something bad.
The words that dripped from his lips like acid caused her to suck in her breath and dare not breathe for fear it was true. Her gaze forgot it's rank and sprang to meet the alpha's straight on in shock. Fur bristled all over her body and then her tail shot straight up, breaking the moment as the fact dawned on her. Keavy crunched her teeth together and growled. "Are you sure, Alpha?" She asked merely as a way of getting a for sure answer before she went in an all out inner rage that was forcing itself out at the moment.
Veronti on their land? What was wrong with the furballs? Clearly they hadn't understood the warning laid out to them step-by-step. Or had it been that they were just too stubborn to comprehend the 'we will kill you if you dare' aspect of it all. She wished she had another cushion to tear up in shreds to let her frustration out. She didn't look for one, but instead looked towards her leader for clarification of the truth he'd brought to her attention. Caoimhe Kinnaird was hoping her anger had occurred through meer mishearing, but then again they were always ready to tear flesh.
