I have thrown away my vice,
Done away with paradise,
See what's going on inside my mind..._____________________
Grey stood face to face with the great beast. His body screamed at him to lie down, to just lay there and take preasure off his muscles. A best he could he refused, though his legs were bent relatively close to the leaf encrusted forest ground. Gnarled roots and deformed branches were woven through the debree of the forest. That fact alone, was what kept him standing. Dirtying the wound would be a very bad idea. Also with the beady eyes of a raging bear in his face, he wasn't looking forward to sticking around if he could help it. Slowly he moved to the side trying to out distance the bear.
He had ,had just about enough. He was ready to just leave with his life intact and let Ulric have his great bear hunt. Guilt made him stop short however as Ulric's massive ebony black form leapt onto the back of the bear. Yorick couldn't help but think how wasted that move was. The back of a bear was all fur and fat, nothing vital to attack. Then he realized that Ulric must have taken such a gamble in order to give him time to move.
Grey didn't know why exactly but he stayed. He still had no idea what to make of this situation, but he would not sink to a level of honor not worthy of his name. Besides if he didn't act then Ulric could die. He had seen many bear fights and new that the position he was in was probably the second worst one, worse being if the bear was on top of you. The bear seemed to be getting an upper hand on the fight as all but two paws were thrashed from its body. Ulric was getting thrown around really good. Yorick made his way closer to the bear now, but this time instead of trying to flank the bear, he quietly crawled near staying in the bears blind spot.
While the bear was still trying to dislodge Ulric, its head was swinging wildly from side to side, probably hoping to catch him in his powerful deadly jaws. Yorick saw his opening and mustered up his strength, of what little was left, to leap at the throat of the bear. His jaw connected with the main jugular in the bears neck. He could feel its warm blood seeping out between his tightly clasped jaws. Quickly he dug his forepaws into the chest of the bear, and used his hind paws to scratch and dig into the bears stomach. Grey was over come by a wave of focused adrenaline, had he not been concentrating he probably would have been out cold, tired from exhaustion, and his injuries. He removed himself from the bears, and quite literally dropped onto his back, and grimaced as his ribs shook with ompact. He waited to see when the bear would collapse._____________________550: words.
