A low grumble sounded from the pit of the alpha’s stomach as he walked the halls of the great Veronti Castle. He realized that it had been longer than he remembered since his last meal. In fact the last meal he had eaten was his dinner from the night before and it wasn’t as if he had feasted. Judging from the sun pouring in through the windows along the side of the hall it had to be noon or later. He hastened his pace and made for the kitchens.
Along his way he noticed other wolves out and about roaming the halls of the castle. Though, the untrained eye would see nothing more than a group of humans going about their business. He hated that thought. He wanted even the lowliest of human scum to know them and fear them for what they truly were. The Lycans, masters of the world. The day couldn’t come soon enough for Ulric Erynthrush. The very motivation of his reign as alpha of the Veronti pack was to raise them up above all others and to conquer the pathetic human rubbish that infested their great lands. They were terrible creatures that had no respect for the natural order of things.
Thankfully the sweet smell of something delicious pulled him from his dark ponderings on how to bring about the end of their hiding. He felt a breeze ruffle his hair and wash him with the smell of food and drink. He smiled as he turned the corner into the grand dining hall.
Letting out a wolf like growl he turned to those already seated and digging in to their lunch with delight, “Something smells delicious.” Picking a vacant seat amongst his people he sat and began to take his share from the platters that held the wonderful bounty before him. He was eagerly ripping the leg off a chicken in no time and gulping down the hot juicy meat. He grinned and patted the wolf next to him on the shoulder, “My god this pack is blessed with an amazing cook.” He said heartily, not even fully aware of whom it was that was sitting next to him. His hunger kept him focused on the meal and he had no time to look around and see who he was with. Besides that, this was his pack and he loved every member like his own flesh and blood so it mattered not who he sat with for no matter who it was they were family. He liked to mingle with everyone, as it made sure that they all knew they were a part of something bigger._____________________Word Count: 441
