With every step the large, blonde wolf took the snow fell harder, the winds became colder, and the sky grew darker. Trees were bending in shapes they should never bend. The trees that were in front of her were barely visible, let alone any other trees or objects in the forest. Her pace slowed to almost a crawl. The winds were blowing the coldest air she had ever felt right back at her face. She turned her head slightly to the side to block some of the wind from her eyes. It didn't really work though. She could feel the snow freezing at the ends of her fur. She tried to shake the ice away, but to no avail. She hoped she could find Tuvio soon so they could get out of this weather. It was terrible. Her mind started to wander just as her body was doing.
She began to think of everything that happened earlier. She remembered how hurt and angry she had been. Even when she didn't know the whole story about why Tuvio left. Maybe he had heard someone cry out for help and Aurora was too wrapped up in her own world that she didn't hear anything. Did she have to be so angry with him? It didn't make sense. She loved him with more than all of her heart. How could she not try to fight for him, especially if she believed she was losing him? This thought helped make her even more determined to find her mate. There was a reason the two were together. There had to be. It wasn’t probable that it was for her leadership skills. Tuvio could have easily picked someone more experienced and superior to her. The most important thing to them about each other was how much love they shared. Love was the one thing that held them together through all this time. Thick and thin. It was no wonder they didn’t fight often. They were always so happy and content with life the way it was. No extreme issues ever came between them, why should this little breakdown of Aurora get the best of their relationship?
And yet he left her in the clearing. That was still hard for Aurora to process. With all of the blood in the clearing shouldn’t he have been concerned for her safety. What if she had been injured. She wasn’t, but could Tuvio really have figured that out by how far he was standing from her. Had he been embarrassed by her? What if he had approached her and then another pack member came upon them. When the two Alphas would have had to explain themselves, what would the answer have been. Could that be a possible reason Tuvio left when Aurora needed him? So many other thoughts ran through her head and she was uncertain as to what she felt anymore. Did Tuvio truly care for her anymore, or was she just an extra limb he was humiliated by?
Her mind was brought back to reality when she felt a sharp pain on her right front paw. She let out a little yelp of pain and stopped walking to check for damage. Lifting her almost freezing paw, she noticed no blood or cut. She was lucky this time. The snow on the ground was icing over, which made it potentially more dangerous to walk. There was a howl of the wind, or at least that’s what Aurora thought it was. Could it have been Tuvio again? She caught a strange feeling of butterflies in her stomach. The blizzard seriously was not letting up and wouldn’t for a while. There was hardly a way for her to find her mate, let alone anyone else. The blizzard just got worse and worse with each step Aurora took. What if there were other Rulin wolves out there in the storm, suffering? Letting out another loud howl, she started to panic. A thought hit her then. What if Tuvio was injured? What if that’s why he wasn’t answering her calls? In this dangerous storm with these ghastly conditions it wouldn’t surprise Aurora if someone did get hurt. But it couldn’t be Tuvio, or any of her pack members. She wouldn’t let that happen. Picking up her pace as fast as the snow and wind would let her, she trod carefully and continued to let out howls every now and again, hoping that soon there would be a reply._____________________words: seven forty-five.
