JULIET

nyalcom alpha
A red wolf picked her way silently through the ruins of Castle Nyaclom before breaking into a full run as the space cleared and she managed to escape from the presence of the human inhabitants of the area. While she firmly believed that she and her pack should be free to show themselves whenever they wanted, she knew at present this wasn't the case. But some days it was just easier not to show your face to mere humans that would only freak out at the site of you, and this was one of those days. The Nyalcom alpha had a horrible thumping her skull, and her previous location of the castle wasn't doing anything to alleviate the pain that was welling up. In the past 25 years as leader of this pack these headaches had become more and more frequent and the young wolf could only think to attribute it to the stress of the job. While she was confidante in her abilities, she still worried about her pack mates and if she could truly be the leader she needed to be. In these times she found that it was better to run off these thoughts instead of wasting energy worrying over things that weren't going to change in the near future.
As she surged forward she felt the frigid Russian winter air ripped into her thick coat, and she felt alive. She loved winter, and she thrived on the cold. Somehow the chill was always exactly what she needed. As Juliet forced herself forward faster and faster she fell into her rhythm. Even for a wolf she was a fast runner, and had a lot of endurance for it. Running had always been her niche that she filled in her pack. She never pretended to be the strongest in the pack, but she was as quick as a whip and good at getting in the quick attacks.
She wasn't sure how long she had been running, but when she finally stopped she found herself at Skirmir's River. The area had always harbored a special place in her heart, and she was happy that her unconscious running had brought her to one of her favorite places. Happily, she trotted over to the water's edge, her tail swinging back and forth in a happy wag. The wind changed directions, and for a moment the scent of Rulin pack entered her nose. A growl rumbled in her throat. The one thing Juliet always hated about this location was how near it was to their rival pack. She distrusted all of them, but the Rulin wolves she was especially cynical towards.
Huffing in annoyance, she plopped down on the bank at it's lowest point. Briefly, she closed her eyes, allowing the sound of the water and Nature around her to sound around her as she realized that her headache was already slipping away.
