I walked through the Shrouded Woods trying to be stealthy for the recon mission I signed up for. I wish someone else was here with me so that Terrie would be quiet. Well at least I have a built in friend, even if he is just a figment. I wonder what it would be like to be the Beta male, or have a mate, or even to just have a real friend. I'd like some soup right about now. I quickly stopped my jumbled thinking as I heared Ruffle in the leaves moments before a rabbit scurried past me. I wonder if any one got past me me as I pondered on lifes mysterys
For the first time that week, Emma decided it was high time to begin her mandatory investigations of the forests. Knowing that such an expedition required the strength, agility, and keen senses of her canine form, she went to seek out the perfect spot for her transformation. Wandering towards the forest with a worn leather knapsack in hand, she scurried towards an unpopulated portion of the forest and undressed. Slipping her clothing into the mouth of the bag, she tucked it beneath a pile of sticks and bramble and concentrated on the task at hand. As was expected, shifting wasn't a terribly pleasant experience, and the young woman felt herself cringe as her bones began to crackle and break while her muscles tore and stretched. Toppling to the ground in a heap of flesh and sprouting fur, she writhed in pain until she shift was finally complete. Fortunately, this particular transformation was less painful than it normally was, which was surprising since she didn't exactly feel up to par. Lying atop the snow for a few moments, the canine attempted to compose herself before she attempted to stand on all fours. When her heart rate slowed and her body stopped aching so profusely, the female got to her feet and shook her body back and fourth.
Long thick hairs flew this way and that until she finally ceased her rapid movements. She was an exceptionally large creature, and her unusually long fur made her appear far more burly than she actually was. The creature was an alpha through and through, and held herself tall and confidently. With her tail up and her ears forward, the female broke into a brisk trot, taking in the wide variety of sounds and scents that the forest emitted. It wasn't long before the female caught the distinct odor of a fellow canine in the near distance. She couldn't determine whether the creature was a Lycanthrope or not, but she was certain that it was a wolf. As far as she could tell, the beast was on its own, not traveling with a pack or other companion. Which was good for Emma who wasn't looking for any confrontations. Not much time passed before the lone wolf came into Emma's line of vision. Her eyes scanned the forest around the black wolf, ensuring that he was in fact on his own. When she was certain that he was, the female walked slowly towards him, giving him time to adjust to the idea of her closing the distance between them. She eventually stopped when she stood approximately two feet from the male, and began her silent investigation. Inhaling his distinctive scent, she discovered that he was male, alone, and probably quite healthy. As she always did, she kept her form higher than that of the male, with her tail completely erect.
Wondering what the male was doing on his own, she inquired " Hello. My name is Emma, Alpha of the Havren pack. I didn't mean to come upon you as quickly as I did. Is there something you are looking for? " The female wasn't great with apologies and very rarely did she utter an "I'm sorry" if it wasn't truly needed. Though she hadn't intended to startle the male (and hopefully she did not), she did not think it warranted an apology. She hoped that the male wasn't hostile or looking for a fight. She wasn't concerned about her ability to defend herself, she just wasn't in the mood to get into a quarrel over something so extremely insignificant. However, she almost always enjoyed the company of her own kind, and if this male was friendly and sociable, she would be more than happy to give him some of her time.
Actually I was on a recon mission Havern alpha, and there is no need to be sorry unless you have done something wrong which I hope is not the case here. I said trying to put on a sense of authority, and Terrie silently yelling at me. She seemed nice enough, and the Havern pack isn’t any trouble What are you doing in Rulin territory, and may I be of any help? by this time Terrie was having a full blown fit and I was trying to hide my urges to laugh at the irony of this all and wonder what I a slightly insane werewolf is getting himself into.
The timber eyed the male, waiting for him to give her at least some semblance of an introduction. When he did not, she sighed quietly. This was an undoubtedly strange meeting. Before tonight she had never come across a wolf so disinterested in the presence of another. Perhaps this male simply had another way of going about things, but it caught Emma off guard. Em was extremely straightforward and to the point and it always threw her a loop when others were not. She didn't often engage in small talk or beat around the bush. She got things gone quickly and effectively. She noted that the male attempted to display a bit of authority and she found herself wondering if he was a high ranking member of a nearby pack. If he was, she couldn't tell which pack it was. She didn't know how to respond to his comment about wrongdoings so she did not. For a few moments she waited to see if the male would display a bit more curiosity or at least take a few deep breaths to capture her scent. When he did not, she decided she would go right ahead and begin her own investigation. If she were going to spend any length of time with this male, she wanted and needed to know who he was. Closing the distance between them, Emma padded toward his side and stopped about a foot from him and began sniffing quietly at his fur. She held her head and tail high, letting him know that she was no afraid and that she was going to commandeer the position of authority. When she was satisfied with her findings (which weren't much) she pulled back and inquired " Recon mission? Please explain this further. " She wasn't yet willing to divulge much information in herself. She didn't think it was a good idea to let him know that she was new to the area, for that would be beneficial to him of he had any malicious intent. Emma was going to be careful about what she did and how she spoke to this male. She had no fear of him of course, but perhaps if she played her cards right, she could get some information from him. And truth be told, this recon mission intrigued her. What was it all about? What was the goal? What did he have to do?
