Leon was pleased that the Alpha female had been understanding. He smiled politely at her and turned his attention to the alpha male who was obviously a bit more upset about the whole matter. He had heard Tuvio snarl as he had came but inches from hitting his mate. That in an of itself was dangerous enough, but to do it while a heard of moose were not but a few feet away… He would be surprised if he were to get off so easily once they returned to the castle. Tuvio spoke only a few words here in the midst of the hunt. Ordering him to be more mindful. Leon bit back a snarl. He wasn’t so much angry at the Alpha as he was at himself he just didn’t like to admit that. From the look on his face and the tone of his voice though no one would have expected Leon felt anything but apologetic at the moment.
“Quite right sir.” Leon said happily having thought of something that might redeem him slightly. If he were to do well with this heard of moose perhaps he could show the alpha that he knew what he was doing after all. Deciding to move into a more ambush-like position Leon moved with the utmost care to a spot a little further down than the alphas. He made sure to stay down wind of the heard so as not to give away his scent and he settled into a waiting position. From where he sat still and vigilant for the sign to move in he could see the perfect target. The moose was just about seven feet tall with a nice set of antlers. Leon grinned and licked his wolf like teeth in an almost human manner as he thought of sinking his powerful jaws into the soft flesh of the beasts neck.
Leon called on his vast, nearly three centuries old, hunting experience and put every bit of it to use here to show to the alpha that he was no mere child. Without moving his head he looked over to the alpha to wait for the signal. He knew that the less one moved the more likely it would be for the prey, or anyone else for that matter, to see you. He also knew that his brown and white coat gave him the perfect camoflauge to blend in with the snow covered bushes. Steady, focused he waited for his leaders sign._____________________Word Count:414
