The woman waited, seeing as he was taking his time in replying he couldn't feel too bad, or better yet, he had good pain tolerance. She watched him walk a little closer and couldn't help the sense of alert wash over her. She had to arch back her head to look up at him. Damn he was tall.
With his smart remark she made a face of annoyance, but he did need help, as he admitted to his reason for "following" her, which he know, obviously wasn't in the girl's book. She began to smile and reply with the fact that she had never been to this town before but a charming smile suddenly spread across the stranger's face and it stopped her short. Had she ears on her head, they would've lowered. Her cheeks flushed some and she made a face of even deeper annoyance at herself. She kept her eyes on his face and pursed her lips in false thought. "I suppose..." she replied with a pondering tone to hopefully take the notice off the pale color in her cheeks, which could easily be explained by the rain, right?
As he moved to her side she cringed away, turned her face up at him with a slight frustration in her gaze as to how tall he was and as to the rain she had to squint her eyes against, just to look at him. Annoyed by the water, she lowered her eyes to look down the road at the town, and away from "Pretty-boy" next to her.
With a last thought, the girl surprised herself, she usually wasn't this vicious, even if it was just in her thoughts. The stranger hadn't done anything wrong, why was she so mad at him?
