Capturing The Culprit - Aurora's Mission

Her hands were clenched in tight fists and there was not an ounce of happiness on her face. The scowl placed just below her nose seemed as though it could cut anyone who took another step out of line. Heading towards the farthest end of the castle alone names began running through her blonde haired head. Aurora felt as though she should automatically know who committed this heinous crime. Stealing one of the pack's important scrolls, which happened to have a map of their territory on it could have only been ... no one. No one from their pack at least. Why would someone who lives on the territory need a map? Unless they were spying for another pack. A growl escaped her. How dare someone betray her and the rest of Rulin. Aurora was determined more than ever to find this traitor and make him or her suffer severe consequences. Turning down one of the corridors she tried coming up with a plan of action. Obviously the whole castle must be searched. But how? Starting from the top to the bottom would probably be my best bet. She thought as she turned down another corridor, heading for the winding staircase that lead to the higher towers. And how on earth am I to tell who truly stole the scroll? I'm not made out for this. If only Tuvio were here.. He would know exactly what to do. Becoming more and more frustrated by the minute Rory's pace quickened as she reached the top of the stairs. No, come on Aurora. Pull yourself together! You are Alpha Female for a reason. You can handle this! Standing on the landing Aurora crossed her arms across her chest, looking down the two hallways in front of her. Which one? Left. Alright. Here goes nothing.. She thought to herself as she quietly, but quickly started to walk down the left hallway. _____________________ 329:words.

Young kerin happily skipped through the halls of the castle. She had most definatly gotten the upper hand of her playmates. She was about three feet tall and only ten years old. Her eyes were blue ,her hair was a light innocent blonde, and she wore a yellow dress. He face however was twisted in a mischevious winning grin. She would show the boys how good she was at sneaking around. They had dared her to take a scroll from the library of the alphas, and she just couldn't let them think her a chicken. Truth be told she had no idea that she had done anything wrong. She had hidden the scroll really well, and was certain no one would find it. Smiling she continued skipping down the halls, looking for a good place to hide in case the boys had tattled on her. Steps rang out in the hall and she panicked thinking it was them, so she hid behind a curtain that was long and thick, it reached the floor, so it covered her feet.

Kerin knew enough to keep quiet as the steps came nearer. Silent as a mouse she waited. The scent of the alpha female reached her, and she became scared, not exactly knowing why. It was something about the emotions playong off of the alpha. All the children were introduced to the alpha male and female at a young age, but Kerin had only really seen them once up close, and the male scared her a great deal. She had heard that they were nice, but some of the yonger boys liked to talk about having seen them snare up children. Occasionally her parents would mention that if she didn't behave the alphas would scold her. Yes Kerin was very worried.

She was so distracted that she didn't realize her footsteps were becoming louder and louder with each step she took. She stopped in the middle of the hall, thinking she heard something. Actually, someone. She could sense a presence near her. But who was it? And where were they hiding? Instantly, Aurora shifted into her blonde wolf form, letting out a little growl. Her head down, she crept forward almost silently now. sniffing the air and the ground, she headed down the hall, noting that she didn't smell anything or anyone new. After a few steps, however she caught the scent of someone. A Rulin member. Aurora's head lifted slightly and she inhaled the scent once more. Taking a few more steps forward, knowing that she knew the scent, but not being able to put a face to it, Aurora called out quietly, "Come out from where ever you are hiding." Aurora stood firmly on the ground her paws neatly spaced, prepared for anything, including a fight.. _____________________ 177:words.

Kerin tried to control her breathing as best she could, but only being a child she was unable to detatch herself from her terror. Her instincts were screaming at her to be silent, but her mind was less then complying at the moment. The thunderous pumping of her heart sounded like drums in her ears, and though she tried to look optimistically on the situation, she had to admit she was doomed. Tears threatened to well up in her eyes, she had just proven to her oppressors that she was capable of extrodinary feats, and now she was about to lose, or worse. Her inner being told her not to cry, to fight the tears if nothing else. When she heard the Alpha's voice she knew she was found. Thoughts of what might be done to her flashed before her eyes. Things that her parents and the other children always scared her with, might become her reality. Moving the curtain she slipped out, and faced the nose of a wolf, her alpha female.The first thing to come to her mind was how much bigger she was compared to her parents.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=564c3d] _____________________ A snarl escaped Aurora's large jaw, her white teeth bared. The Alpha watched the floor length curtains that were in front of her move. She was ready to pounce, if actions called for it. A small human form took a few tiny steps away from the wall, towards Aurora. Surprised, the blonde wolf fixed her stance into a less aggressive one. Her jaw relaxed and the growling stopped. She recognized the small girl, but could not remember her name. Feeling that the tiny child possessed no threat, Aurora sat down on her hind legs. "What are you doing hiding behind the curtain sweetie?" She asked gently, trying not to scare the girl anymore then she obviously already was. Aurora knew that children were almost always afraid of the Alpha wolves. Her actions during the brief moments before weren't helping. Aurora also understood that most wolves were taught to respect and trust the Alphas. Sometimes though, parents would threaten their young with the threats of the Alphas disciplining the children. Aurora didn't think that it helped with the trusting part though. Hopefully this young girl would trust Aurora enough to tell the entire truth today. Aurora would also make it a mission to spend more time with the children of the pack. She never really realized how much time she spent avoiding them. This got her to thinking and distracted her a little bit. Tuvio and her hadn't had this conversation very often. It never really got far when they did try to talk about having children. They could never agree completely. Aurora wasn't a very child oriented one. It was just something that she didn't think about at the time being. She didn't feel like she was ready to be a mother. But maybe spending more time with the children would help her get ready for it. Aurora decided that she would talk to Tuvio soon about it and see what his thoughts about it were. She turned her attention back to the young girl standing in front of her after a few seconds of thinking to herself, waiting for an answer, that was hopefully the truth. _____________________ 356:words.

Her heart had never stopped beatting loudly. It was far worse then her imagination, coming face to face with a very angry Alpha, her alpha no less. The only solace she had was that there was only one of the pair standing before her. However the roaring snarl that seemed to announce her exit from the curtain, made her bones shake in her skin. She wondered if she shook hard enough, if her skeleton would run away from her skin completly. The level of fear was conveyed in her eyes, as tears were now running slowly down her cheeks. Kerin had managed to avoid a full out shower of tears, however it was not far off.

Imediatly her hands went up to cover her eyes, and they remained there. Inside she was scolding herself for being so afraid, she was supposed to be a big strong brave warrior for the pack. Her family was not one of high rank and she was put on a pedestal by her parents, to gain a better life. Even at this young age, she was afraid that this incident would make her parents abandon her, as occasionally parents tended to do to pups that were more trouble then worth.

Then of all the possible things she thought the alpha would do, she sat down before her. Kerin moved her left hand down from her eyes so that she could see what was happening. At the questioning, she was sure that the alpha knew nothing of what was going on, or at least her game of hide and seek was still unknown. She sniffled and rubbed her eyes on her sleves before answering. "I was proving to the boys that I could beat them at hide and seek."
